Elections
Elections are here again and there are several positions open. They are President, Vice president, Secretary, Treasury, and two board trusties.
This is a time to be involved in your club and take an interest in the path that the Mens club takes in the future.
This will take place on January nineteenth.
Christmas trees
The Christmas tree sales were a great success again. We have set records again this year for the short time it took to set up for the trees and the short time it took to sell the trees. We even sold a twenty-foot tree this year. We have a good samaritan in our town (that will go unnamed) that buys the last tree and donates it to a needy family. A great job was done by all especially Greg Stewart. Greg chaired the event again this year and was faced with a few twists from the last years event. One was the location change and the other was dealing with the utilities that are buried in that area.
Mens club party
This is an event that we have had in the past and would like to have again and we are active in making this happen in March.
Chile cook off
This is happening again this year on Sat, Feb 16. We are looking for judges for the cook off and volunteers for the different events like 50/50 raffle, beer sales ect. We will not have a band this year. We will have music via a satellite radio. Our membership is encouraged to show up for the next general meeting (Jan.16th) to sign up for the tasks that need to be done.
Bleachers
We have been asked to help restore the bleachers (replace with aluminum) of the Alumni field and have it under consideration for a donation towards the total cost (17 thousand dollars).
Coats and shirts
Mens club coats and shirts are being awarded for chairing a project or being active in an event.
Legion civil war head stones
There is a drive going on to restore and in some cases (where there is no name markers at all) originate head stones of the civil war. The committee has generated funds and they were looking for additional help in the form of a donation. This will be up for vote at the next general meeting.
After prom
This is one of our favorite contribution supports and is coming up soon.
Classic Car show
This event went so well that Bob Kellog and others, did it again and was better the second time. Looks like we have a new event. I wonder if bob wants another coat?
